The Selous Reserve is huge, covering an area of ​​about 54,600 km2, consisting of savannah, lakes and rivers. This reserve is 4 times the size of the Serengeti and is home to the largest population of elephants. Due to the fact that the permanent settlement of people in the reserve is prohibited, this World Heritage site remains untouched with wild pristine nature. Here you can meet hippos, crocodiles and, of course, the famous "big five" - ​​the African elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and white / black rhinoceros. Selous is also one of the few places in the world where wild African dogs live.
